Warm memories of a person as rare as a snowflake in a warm season.

New song! Listen to it here.

I started working on this song roughly a year ago as of this writing. At the time, I wanted to come up with a "beach" inspired track. Unfortunately, I couldn't come up with anything at the time. I only recently fleshed out the song, with the most prominent addition being the reverberating sound of piano keys.
When it came time to come up with a name for this song, I was absolutely stumped and didn't know what to call it. Listening to the song, I found that the original "warm and beachy" feel was almost replaced by a "cold wintery" feel from the piano. So now I was stuck with a "hot and cold" feel.

After a while, I asked my friends what they thought. A common response was the the song made them think of "memories". Going off of that, I thought about a memory of it snowing in October. Where I grew up, snow is an extremely rare sight in the middle of October. So when it started snowing, I was a bit taken aback. I thought it was a bit of a fantastic moment, sort of like when you find something incredible, like a lot of money on the ground, or a really, really yummy place to eat.

In the end, I had a song that invoked both "hot" and "cold" feelings, with a hint of nostalgia. Thus, "October Snow".

... also, I really just like how it sounds.
